“Willow Creek Christian Music Festival”
June 30, 2007
- RECAP -
In a recent quote from leadership coach John Maxwell, “Operate in the spirit of grace and mercy, not in the spirit of reluctance”. In other words, don’t be afraid to take a risk in order to add value back to your neighbor or community. It’s a better choice to try, learn and grow, than to do nothing and succeed. Our lords grace and mercy is sufficient to cover us in our attempts to do good.
The news regarding Saturdays 2nd annual “Willow Creek Christian Music Festival” is that the GOOD NEWS was promoted through joyful singing, encouraging messages, and light hearted laughter. The 200+ people who came out to this free event went home encouraged. Many of the local churches leadership and members were among the crowd as a beautiful day and wonderful experience was had by all.
Good times Steve Clark
I first want to give thanks to my lord Jesus Christ, for the vision of a music festival in our area to promote his free gift of eternal salvation (John 3:16). I am especially grateful to local resident Jeff Lewis, as he was given the same vision for this annual event. I would like to thank Eric McDonald who without his tireless commitment, contact and technical experience, this event would never have gotten off the ground. I would like to thank Pastor Ted Rivers and Willow Creek Bible Church, for there rock solid support of our efforts. I would also like to thank Steve Paine, the Willow Creek Community Services District and Willow Creek Kiwanis for there support. I would like to thank the Humboldt Area Foundation for there generous donation this year. Thank you’s go out to Rick and his team at Buddy’s Towing and to the McKnight’s at Bigfoot Contractors supply for there donation of the flat bed trailers. The stage came together real nice. Thanks to Kip from Two Street Music, who did an awesome job in helping make a joyful sound through-out the valley. I want to say special kudos to Pastor Chuck Starnes and all the wonderful people from Centerpointe Church who have dedicated there talents and gifts to this vision these first two events. I want to say thank you to all my friends at Faith Center Foursquare Church who came out and put there talents on the line in order to make a quality event happen again this year. Thank you to everyone who prayed for us behind the scenes. Your prayers matter, they are felt and appreciated.
